Different fears

Fear can look different. It could show up as ‘don’t open the door, something seems wrong about this situation.’

It could also be ‘I don’t want to be embarrassed or judged by my friends and colleagues for something.’

There’s a big difference. The first example can truly be life or death. The 2nd, nowhere near that. And it’s important to distinguish between the two. Both may have value-though it’s easy to argue that one has significantly more value-but recognizing the role each plays helps us decide how to move forward. It allows us the opportunity to recognize fear and put some context around what is happening mentally and emotionally and how we want to use it to our advantage.
